August 11, 2011, 1:00-2:00 pm | KVH Webinar: Prevention and Public Health Fund

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) created the Prevention and Public Health Fund (Fund), which provides an historic opportunity change the focus of our health care system from treating people when they are sick to preventing illness in the first place. The Fund is a dedicated investment that allows communities to focus on priority areas such as improving nutrition, increasing physical activity, and reducing tobacco use – all risk factors for chronic illnesses like obesity, heart disease and diabetes which are increasing across the United States. Helping people stay healthy will improve quality of life and help us reduce health costs. Unfortunately, some in Congress have been working to repeal or drastically reduce our investment in the Fund. The Trust for America’s Health is working with a range of other organizations to protect the Fund, and so far 650 national, state and local organizations have expressed their support for the Fund. This has been critically important in demonstrating to Congress the depth and breadth of support for the Fund. We invite you to join a webinar to hear the latest updates from Washington and learn more about what you can do to help.
